Sourced is a mobile digital application that is fully customizable based on your skin type that helps you navigate the skincare aisle. Telling you which products are best for your skin based on your skin type or skin condition(s).
To what demographic am I catering? This app is primarily for young teens and adults who struggle finding a skincare products that work for them.
What problem(s) am I solving? This application solves frustration in finding skincare products because products can be difficult to understand in what their capabilities are.
Provide a personalized user experience by tailoring product recommendations based on each user's skin type and specific skin conditions.
Present complex skincare information in a clear and digestible format reducing confusion around ingredients, product benefits, and
skin concerns.
Create a efficient and easy UI that enables users to quickly find skincare recommendations with minimal effort.
Competitor Analysis:
Yuka is a mobile application that enables users to scan product barcodes to evaluate their overall quality based on ingredient composition. The app analyzes each product's ingredients and assigns it a score ranging from 0-100, providing users with a simple and accessible way to make more informed purchasing decisions.
Pros: Allows you to scan all kinds of products like food, hair/body & skin care, and cleaning products.
Cons: Is not customized to your
personal needs.
The Ordinary offers an interactive skin assessment that asks users a series of questions about their skin type, concerns, and goals. Based on their responses, the quiz generates personalized skincare product recommendations, helping users identify products that best suit their
individual needs.
Pros: Gives you products based on your skins needs. The ordinary does a great job in explaining what each product is for.
Cons: Only suggests their own products, possibly couldn't work for everyone.
